Experiential Workshops

Workshops are an important part of the festival experience. Each year, we strive for the workshops to focus on the current year's direction, element and/or Goddess Archetype, while including and involving you, the festival attendee. The workshops are scheduled for indoor space in case of inclement weather, but if the sun is shining, a lot of our Presenters will take the workshop outside. All workshops are included in your registration fee and for most, all you need do is arrive on time. Some may require pre-registration and/or a small materials fee. Our workshops allow you to participate in spirited discussions, creative movements, singing and drumming circles, self-honoring rituals and artistic creativity, just to name a few.

3:30 – 5:00 pm     Co-existing in Harmony - How to TRULY be Man's Best Friend

Furry Godmother…to the Rescue

There are many things as human caretakers we do and take for granted that may inadvertently cause our doggy friends additional stressors, often resulting in undesirable behaviors. Often when trying to 'correct' certain behaviors perceived as 'bad', human guardians try to halt them in somewhat negative ways...(saying NO!, pushing butts, yanking collars, etc). Bring your war stories of resource guarding, stranger danger, and everything in between. In this interactive discussion, a canine behaviorist will bring you the dog's perspective, along with strategies and enrichment plans that can honor the fiery spirit of the humans and non-humans alike...the mommies, the daddies, the doggies, and the whole families!

After working with 150+ dogs a day in the city shelter system for several years, this Furry GodMother is a canine behaviorist that views feisty fiery fidos through a very different lens. This interactive session will have all participants leaving and saying out loud, "Hmmm, I never thought of it like that".
